Woot, finally have the battery replacement scheduled for my Bolt next week. I am excited to have a) 100% capacity instead of 80% (software cap installed by Chevy as a precaution until replacement) and b) Less chance of bursting into flames.
Whoever got Github to automate re-pointing chained PR requests to the proper branch after the preceding PR is merged, you are my hero.
This is probably only slightly less implausible than the conversation which actually happpened. twitter.com/BadLipRea…
I love when I get a letter informing me a service with my personal information was breached, and to compensate me they’ve given me several free years of identity theft protection from…Experian, who had one of the biggest personal info breaches ever. Good work everyone.
A lot I read about COVID is lamenting the slow uptake of the bivalent vaccine, and I’m wondering how much of that is folks (including me, my wife, and my mom) who caught COVID before they could get the bivalent vaccine, so then have had to wait 3 more months to get the shot.
I enjoyed Katie Porter’s reading material, but I enjoy both the general joke and the complete Chicagoland pandering of Robin Kelly, an IL rep, bringing a gargantuan bag of Garret Popcorn. twitter.com/RepRobinK…

I’m slightly terrified by the implication here that meat-based popcorn exists.
Lawd. Today was three Mondays in a trenchcoat, and it can go back to the hellmouth from whence it came.
Love to spend four hours troubleshooting CI and still not have the faintest idea of what you’ve done wrong
Totes ready to head back to work tomorrow!`*

2022 was a very mixed bag for me, but tonight I’m just happy to be home safe with my wife and our kitty boys. 2023 still sounds like the impossibly distant future to me, and it’s almost here. Here’s hoping we all make the most of it.
June: Did something to my elbow August: Finally got an ortho appointment to get referred to PT October: Started PT Early December: Hm, you should talk to ortho again, this isn’t helping Today: ortho pokes at arm for 30s, says I need test. First availability for test: April. 🇺🇸
Well that went unexpectedly well. I caught an hour earlier flight back to Madison and get to be in bed when I should have been landing!
(Hopefully also this is the end of my travel tweets for a couple months)
Three very sad-looking Southwest planes parked on the tarmac at BDL, waiting for crews to show up. Apparently they cancelled every flight into and out of here today.
(I’m flying United, so watch me get stuck overnight at ORD again)
OK, I did at least figure out how to upgrade PHP to something that’s not EOL’d, but it’s still mega-overpriced and I kind of also don’t want to deal with the upcoming transition to GoDaddy’s hosting. So still taking suggestions.
OK, I think it’s time for me to find a new host, Media Temple isn’t even keeping PHP up to date for 💸.
Accepting new host suggestions which have:
Extremely fuck Greg Abbott and whichever of his cronies organized dropping off three buses of migrants in DC with temps in the teens and no warm clothing.
I hope anyone who was in any way responsible for this gets kidney stones.
Made it to my cousin’s house just before 2am. I’m so tired I’m pretty sure I hallucinated Santa on the way over here. Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.
Pilots flying my plane from ATL to BDL (Hartford CT) were apparently about an hour and a half late leaving Montego Bay, Jamaica. Can’t imagine why they wouldn’t have wanted to leave!
Been in the ATL airport for about a half hour and already seen two decent-sized floods that appear to be from burst pipes.
I say appear to be because one guy I asked if one of the floods was a burst pipe said, “Nah, we’re opening a water park! Come back soon!”
Tough but fair.
I have taught @ajoelthomas@twitter.com well.
I realize today is Festivus and not Thanksgiving, but boy am I thankful I’m not in Madison right now because alllllll the NOPE
